Small Groups - What is a Small Group?
The purpose of Kettlebrook small groups is to help people be transformed thru real life application of God's Word, to build relationships with others who follow Jesus and to be missional by serving and extending the love of God to each other, others in our local communities and around the world.

SMALL GROUP ESSENTIALS

Transformational – facilitating life change
Transformation (tr˘ans•fer•MA•shun): n. a marked change, as in appearance or character, usually for the better.

How would you define your spiritual health?
How are you growing?

No matter how well you might enjoy a Sunday sermon, teaching without application rarely results in effective change. Our small group environment allows you to discuss issues, interact with questions, and apply Jesus’ teachings directly to your life. Through our small groups, we desire to be a community grounded in God's Word that facilitates life change. Check it out….you will find the results are transformational.

Relational – fostering authentic relationships
Who are you doing life with? When you get together with your friends, do you sometimes wonder if you could have the same conversation with a stranger?

In our small groups, authentic community is an essential. God created us to be united in a special relationship with each other. We all long for sincere and authentic relationships that are dedicated to the well being and spiritual growth of each other. Likewise the church should uphold practices to assist individuals in their personal journey.

Over fifty times in the New Testament the phrase “one another” is used to describe our relationship with each other. We are instructed to love one another, bear one another’s burdens, pray for one another, and build up one another. As a result of this essential small group component, it’s our hope that solid friendships develop among the group. Without authentic relationships, it is not true community. It's really about doing life together.

Missional – serving our community
Our small groups are not exclusive clubs, but groups of people who are seeking after God, and seeking to make a difference. Our small groups are not designed to be selfish, but instead are designed to have a mission outside themselves. Jesus Christ called His followers to live a different life, but He didn't tell them to ignore the rest of the world. You don’t have to travel across the globe to make a difference. Our small groups are the vehicle by which Kettlebrook Church serves the West Bend and Jackson areas and the world. Serving is not an afterthought, but is an intentional element critical to the DNA of our small groups. Without service, it is not a small group.
